The Evil Eye Collection: What Is In It, and How to Match a Set

The Power of the Greek Eye: A Timeless Symbol in Paw London’s Collection - PAW LONDON

The Greek eye, or nazar, runs through more of our range than any other motif. Fifty one pieces carry it, across five product types and fourteen colourways. This is a guide to what is actually in the collection and how the pieces fit together. If you want the meaning behind the symbol rather than the range, we cover that in a separate piece.

What the collection holds

Dog collars. Fourteen colourways, in seven sizes from XS to 3XL. The stone is hand set into a gold-plated holder with gold-plated paw studs alongside it.

Dog harnesses. Thirteen colourways, XS to XL, with five adjustment holes giving 8 cm of movement on the chest. The neck is not adjustable, so measure it before you choose.

Dog leashes. Thirteen colourways, 115 cm long, holding dogs up to 30 kg.

Cat collars. Eight colourways, 1.3 cm wide throughout with four adjustment holes, in XS, S and M. A cat collar is a different cut, not a shrunken dog collar.

Hound collars. Three colourways for sighthounds, cut wide at the throat and narrow at the buckle. Whippets, greyhounds, lurchers and salukis back straight out of an ordinary collar, and we explain why here.

The two finishes

Every piece is vegan leather in one of two finishes. Glossy is the patent-look surface that holds bright colour: White, Baby Pink, Baby Blue, Royal Blue, Red, Black and Chocolate. Suede is the matte, brushed finish, where the deeper and warmer colours sit: Cinnamon, Bitter Chocolate, Azure Blue, Royal Blue, Sand Beige, Sugar Pink and Hot Pink.

Royal Blue is the one colourway that exists in both, so it is worth checking which finish you are looking at before you order the second piece.

Matching a set

Collar, harness and leash come in the same leather, so a full set reads as one piece rather than three things that happen to be the same colour. Thirteen colourways run all three: Cinnamon, Bitter Chocolate, Azure Blue, Royal Blue in suede, Sand Beige, Sugar Pink, Hot Pink, White, Baby Pink, Baby Blue, Royal Blue in glossy, Black and Red. Chocolate is a collar on its own.

If you have a cat and a dog, eight colourways cover both: Cinnamon, Bitter Chocolate, Royal Blue in suede, White, Baby Pink, Baby Blue, Black and Red.

The Kelly travel carriers sit in the same collection because they pair with it: Amsterdam, Navy, Peony, Powder, Sky Blue and Smoke.

Personalising it

Collars and cat collars carry a name tag option and a charm choice. Dog collars offer the bun, heart, star and bone tag shapes; cat collars offer bun, heart and star. The charm is a paw or a heart. Leashes carry the charm but no name tag.

Hardware and fit

All the metal is gold-plated brass and nickel-free, which matters on something that sits against skin all day. Measure with a soft tape at the widest part of the neck and leave room for two fingers. Our full guide to that is here. If your pet falls between sizes, get in touch before you order. We make custom sizes at no extra cost.
